Our mission
"A place to age with dignity, without having to age alone."
Crow's Pass is a proposed intentional co-housing community in Cape Breton. Independence and connection belong together: private, accessible homes, shared spaces, cooperative support and resident-led community life.
This is not institutional care, and it isn't charity. It's a practical path to aging in place with stability, mutual respect and belonging. We're not a grievance. We're a solution, and the experience of the women and men who join is a community asset.
The community model
The working framework imagines a small cluster of accessible, energy-efficient private homes on shared land, around a common house with resident-led governance.
- Your own home: an accessible cottage with privacy and independence.
- A common house: shared meals, activities and informal check-ins.
- Resident-led life: neighbours share decisions, knowledge and skills, each according to her abilities.
